Maharashtra Unlimited

Maharashtra Unlimited
MAHARASHTRA - a word, which literally means a Great (Maha) Nation (Rashtra), is the name of the only state in India with word, 'Nation' in it. Being a state with majestic rivers, metropolitan cities, calming villages, tough mountain ranges, overpowering seas, incompatible divine spirituality, rich cultural heritage, varieties of food, affluent literature of Marathi language etc never fails to leave the visitor spellbound.

The state of Maharashtra was formed on 1st May 1960 considering linguist grounds as the base, which is celebrated as the 'Maharashtra Din'. The state as big as holding 36 districts, consists of the population of around 12.47 crores from different walks of life. Maharashtra is second-most populous and third largest state in India. The state has many aspects that has to be celebrated & cherished. The marathi speaking people and their traditional marathi culture constitutes the major part of my understanding of the state. Maharashtra has always been a happening state with its contribution in the best interests of our country. Ever since India was under the tyranny of Mughal rule, Maharashtra has produced the powerful Maratha empire which shook the Mughal foundations based in Delhi and by this, Maharashtra has been able to save the throne of India's capital. Through some of the major personalities, it has given a different contemplation to many aspects right from education to Indian freedom struggle. Maharashtra's ever growing think tank is recognized all over the world.

Geographical aspect is very fulfilling in Maharashtra with rivers such as Godavari, Krishna, Narmada flowing through different parts of the state. Presence of these majestic rivers is considered very holy by the native people. It's cosmopolitan cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur etc offers the one of the best city life experience in the country with tremendous facilities and contemporary outlooks. One can have a grasp of mesmerizing village pockets, which are enriched with blessings of mother nature that makes them even more peaceful. The tough mountain ranges of Sahyadris marks the strength of the state. The beautiful yet overpowering coast line spreads across 720 kms with the best beachy experiences. Maharashtra is also a place with many faiths but one spirit, with largest Hindu population, the state has one of the most worshipped places in India and also Maharashtra is recongnised as the pioneer of celebrations of many Hindu festivals with its traditional richness. Culture & traditions of Maharashtra are one of the oldest and still very popular in rest of the places. Maharashtra has also witnessed the growth of powerful empire of Marathas that shuddered the Mughal rule with the omnipotence of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and legacy of Peshva dynasties. The food culture of Maharashtra is undisputedly one of the most celebrated cuisine all over India, every part has a variety of special delicacies to offer which leaves the visitor gratified. The classical Marathi language which has huge range of literature, dramas, poetries, ancient texts and so on, is a treasure that Maharashtrians would always adore. The traditional Maharashtrian outfit is famous all across the world. Every Marathi women would have Paithani & a Navvari Saari in her closet. State's contributions to industrialization and development has made it a financial capital of India and so on.

Maharashtra through my lens is unlimited and reasons to love Maharashtra are numerous. To explore some of the amazing facets of this immense state, I am starting a series called 'Maharashtra Unlimited'
